Practice Manager

Our Practice Manager, Clare Beattie, is very happy to help you with any issues relating to the administration and management of the Practice. She can be contacted on 667 1289.

Receptionists

Our valued receptionists are Pearl Ferguson (our Carers Champion), Nicola Gray, Jenna Pemberton, Sharon Lawson, Janis Blair and Lynsay McDonald. They are very experienced and are happy to offer advice or suggestions about how to make the most of the Practice, or indeed to help you, our patient.

Practice Nurses

The Practice Nurses can be consulted, by appointment, on weekday mornings and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

Our nurses can be consulted for advice and treatment of minor illness, minor injuries, cervical smears, and other health-related issues. She has a particular interest in the management of asthma, diabetes, heart disease and she also offers an NHS Travel Medicine service (travel clinic forms need to be completed and submitted to reception). NHS travel vaccinations require an appointment which must be booked at least two weeks in advance of travel. Please be aware that we only provide basic travel vaccines under the NHS and some immunisations may have to be sought at a private travel clinic.

District Nurse Team

The District Nurses are experienced nurses who have undergone a further qualification in community nursing care. They provide skilled nursing assessment and care for our housebound patients.

The District Nursing Team are based at Conan Doyle Medical Centre and can be contacted directly on 666 5178.

Health Visitors

Health Visitors can be consulted about child illness, child protection, parenting issues, developmental concerns and family health. There is also a Drop-in Child Health Clinics (for weighing etc) held every Wednesday at Southside Community Centre, 117 Nicolson Street (opposite Tesco Metro) 14.00 – 15.30 and Conan Doyle Medical Centre (behind Cameron Toll Shopping Centre) on Thursdays 11.00 – 12.15. Midwives

The Community Midwives provide antenatal and postnatal care.
If you are already being seen by the Midwives, their telephone number is 536 3517. If you have just discovered you are pregnant, there is a self-referral process in place, and you should call 536 2009 to arrange Midwifery services, and they will do the rest!
